Devote Follow of God, Author, Retired PA, Husband & Father

My first contact with Adventism came through

my grandmother. Later when I was about four

years old, my parents joined the church. I was

sent to Adventist grade schools, an academy

(Oak Park),  Firstt Union College, and then Kettering College of Medical Arts where I graduated twice with a degree in nursing and then as a physician assistant. I was baptized into the church at age 23.

I met the love of my life at age 30 and married at 31. We adopted our son 9 years later and he has blessed us with a lovely daughter-in-law and two granddaughters. I started teaching sabbath school about twenty years ago, was ordained, and worked as a deacon and elder in the church.

About 10 years ago after a sermon I had preached at a small church in Florida. I was hit with the impression that I was not ready for Jesus to come and began an in-depth study into the scriptures and then the Spirit of Prophecy. Because of the importance of the law, I centered my study there.

About 8 years ago I was asked by a group of elders and deacons at the church we were attending to outline in writing what I believed regarding the law because two pasters objected to what I was teaching. I had taken Ellen White’s exposition on the law, “The Law of God” to sabbath school and was reading it to the class when the pastor stood up in the back and said Seventh-day Adventists didn’t believe that. (This article is available on this site) I did not anticipate that this news, which was so beautiful to me, would be so opposed by members of my own church.

The article for the elders gradually grew into a book, it was published by Teach Services in 2023. I have spent the last year continuing to teach sabbath school and handing my book out to elders and pastors to get their feedback; I have received none.

Prior to publishing this book, it was sent in manuscript form to the E.G. White estate for their evaluation. They sent it back to me unread with the advice that I read a book by Doug Batchelor. The only response I have received from the clergy was from a Baptist pastor who liked it and preached a sermon on the sabbath, prior to resigning his position in the church.

I firmly believe we should release controversial lessons to the clergy and leadership first to get their take on it, and I have done that, but I have been disappointed not because of a negative response but of no response to the article and spirit of prophecy quotes.

The book is clearly annotated with text inscriptions and pages in the Spirit of Prophecy. It has been a blessing to me to research, write, and publish the book and I commit to you the reader because I believe it will point you to Jesus and prepare you for his second coming.
